Mobile Help Desk

Catch up with your local Extension Master Gardeners at our mobile help desk. 

You can look out for our table at community events around Newport News throughout the year!  We are always thrilled to answer your questions, hear your gardening stories, and help you find your green thumb.  Grab a brochure or a soil test kit when you stop by, and find out how to join our next training class to become a master gardener!

Rain Barrel WorkshopS

2023 Rain Barrel "Mini-Workshops" are coming soon.  Rain barrel kits are $60 and must be reserved in advance.

Vermiculture WorkshopS

Save some space in your calendar for one of our fantastic workshops! Learn about the benefits of raising worms in your own home and walk away with your own complete worm composting bin.  Your kids will LOVE this project!  Vermiculture kits are $30 and must be reserved in advance.

Children's Spring EGGstravaganza

Flower Planting at King-Lincoln Park


Join us for this annual spring season event on April 1st from 12:00pm until 5:00pm.
Free to all. After you choose your flower, Master Gardeners will help you get it potted.  This is a fun way to get little ones started with gardening!
